Insurance is the act of protecting people from financial disaster. That’s our job, and what we pride ourselves in doing every day! Right now, the world is facing a new set of challenges with the covid-19 virus. We do have a plan in place to protect our clients, staff and community and are continuing to monitor updates as the situation evolves.
After all, we are in the business of protecting people, so that starts with our own people!

Ability to Work Remotely
Fortunately, we are able to ensure that our staff have the ability to work from home if necessary. We have created the ability for over 90% of our people to work from home, reducing staff in the office for only a few necessary tasks. This means that staff have some flexibility to continue working if they are required to quarantine, in addition to us being able to service clients remotely, should the time come that the risk of working from the office is too high.
We have taken every necessary precaution to keep our communal surfaces clean. Our Health and Safety Team is doing daily office walkthroughs and wipe downs and our Reception teams are committed to keeping our lobby and client rooms clean at all times. Lysol wipes, sanitizer and anti-bacterial soap are available to all clients who visit our offices.
Steps we are taking to minimize the spread
Since viruses spread quickly through dense populations, it is important that we all take steps to minimize the amount of touching and sharing we do during these times.
Maintaining at least 1 metre (3 feet) distance between yourself and anyone who is coughing or sneezing is a good rule of thumb! When someone coughs or sneezes they spray small liquid droplets from their nose or mouth which may contain virus. If you are too close, you can breathe in the droplets, including the COVID-19 virus if the person coughing has the disease.
Avoid touching hands, nose or mouth
This applies to both yourself, and to others. Hands touch many surfaces and can pick up viruses. A major source is covering your mouth and nose with your bent elbow or tissue when you cough or sneeze, and then touching someone or something else. Once contaminated, hands can transfer the virus to your eyes, nose or mouth. From there, the virus can enter your body and can make you sick. As a result, we are going to avoid shaking hands with others during business interactions.
Wash your hands, frequently
Regularly and thoroughly clean your hands with an alcohol-based hand rub or wash them with soap and water. Washing your hands kills viruses that may be on your hands, and prevents the spread of others germs to you, and your germs to others.
At this time, the risk in the communities we serve remains low, but we are prepared to do whatever it takes to protect our people and our communities. Together, we can keep each other safe by being conscientious, respectful and kind to ourselves, our families and friends, our neighbours and our peers.
