In June 2017, Peter McConvillle, founder of May-McConville Omni, passed away. Prior to his passing, St. Joseph’s provided wonderful care, support, and comfort to Peter and his family during this very difficult time.
About St. Joseph's Hospice
St. Joseph’s Hospice is an organization that provides quality of life at the end of life, offering compassionate holistic care and support to people living with a terminal illness. Support is extended to their family members and caregivers, and to those grieving the loss of a loved one.
Hospice programs and services are offered at no cost and are available irrespective of gender, religion, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity or economic status. Tailored programs are offered to a variety of age ranges.
Whether in the community, Wellness Centre, or 10-suite residence, St. Joseph’s Hospice provides specialized programs and care with a person-centred approach. Individuals and families are intimately involved in creating their own care plan that best addresses their unique needs. Our Hospice staff and volunteers work together as a team with other community partners to provide full support and quality hospice palliative care.
McConville Omni's Support
Along with our weekly donations through our social committee for casual Fridays, McConville Omni has made contributions to this worthy cause that is close to the hearts of the staff that worked with Pete. Below is a copy of a press release from an earlier donation in 2017.
In memory of Peter McConville, St. Joseph’s Hospice received a joint $10,000 donation from Economical Insurance, one of Canada’s leading providers of home, auto, and business insurance, and its broker partner McConville Omni Insurance Brokers. (Sample of Press Release – below)
“As the President of McConville Omni, Peter was well known and respected in the London business community,” said Ed Meiering, CEO of McConville Omni. “During his courageous fight against cancer, he expressed deep gratitude to those who helped him through his palliative journey at St. Joseph’s Hospice, and hoped that others would be able to experience the same compassionate support he received during his stay there.”
“This generous donation from Economical and McConville Omni will help us provide compassionate care, day programs, education, and empowerment to individuals with a life-limiting illness and their families,” said John Callaghan, CEO of St. Joseph’s Hospice. “Coping with a palliative illness can be a trying time for both patients and their families. That’s why we believe it’s important that quality end-of-life care is provided in the community to help them through this difficult time in their lives.”
“Peter McConville was taken from us far too soon,” said Tom Reikman, Chief Distribution Officer at Economical Insurance. “McConville Omni has been our trusted broker partner in serving the needs of the community for more than 60 years. We are so proud to honour Peter’s wishes and help fund St. Joseph’s Hospice.”
